For Adwords Advertisers ,Watch your security

Recently , as an adwords advertiser, I got recently message from Google saying that.

“Hello,

Our attempt to charge your credit card for your
outstanding Google AdWords account balance was declined.
Your account is still open. However, your ads have been suspended. Once
we are able to charge your card and receive payment for your account
balance, we will re-activate your ads.

Please update your billing information, even if you plan to use the
same credit card. This will trigger our billing system to try charging
your card again. You do not need to contact us to reactivate your
account.

To update your primary payment information, please follow these steps:

1. Log in to your account at http://adwords.google.com/select.
2. Enter your primary payment information.
3. Click ‘Update’ when you have finished.

In the future, you may wish to use a backup credit card in order to
help ensure continuous delivery of your ads. You can add a backup
credit card by visiting your Billing Preferences page or visit the
AdWords Help Centre for more details:

Thank you for advertising with Google AdWords. We look forward to
providing you with the most effective advertising available.

The Google AdWords Team.”

I got this message at my email address which I used to subscribe to Google. And I also didn’t pay the last invoice because I issue a new credit card. So it is normal to receive such message and use the above link to update my payment info. Oh , But wait, if you are in my shoes, please don’t do that. The link above is fake and will lead you to another url.
http://adwords.google.com/select this link is not the real one. If you look to the HTML code , you will find the real one is http://adwords.google.com.qsoil.cn/select/login

What does it mean? It means that as soon as you click on the above link, you will be forwarded to another copy cat site of google adwords to steal your log in data. Or to drop a Trojan into your pc and they can steal all your personal info or drop a virus that can destroy your pc.

So please be careful. Evil is always there.

How To Fight Against Online Fraud

Internet is the best place for buying or selling any stuff, but it can be very risky at the same time. It can be a home for a huge number of scams that target the consumers, investors and also business owners.
The term “Online Fraud” has spread widely in the Internet. It simply refers to any schemes that use online services to perform fraudulent schemes. No doubt there is tremendous increase in fraudulent online activities but we can always try to fight against those sophisticated criminals and prevent online fraud from happening.

There are various kinds of online frauds that include:
Credit Card Online Fraud, E-mail Online Fraud, Fake Websites, Lotteries, Fake Auctions, Phishing Scam, Pharming Scam, etc…
Not only can your identity be stolen by those kinds of fraud, but also you can easily loose your credit and your hard earned money. The main key to preventing online fraud is just use common sense and care. Here are some tips you should take into consideration to help you avoid online frauds:

* Only Trust ISP Emails; Emails asking for your personal information are another red flag to prevent. Do not trust emails asking for personal information even if they claim to be from your bank. Most online scammers are smart enough to use free email addresses when scamming online. This gives them extra padding from getting caught, so take precaution with these free email addresses and trust ISP emails which are easily traceable.

* Don’t shop in an unsecured websites; If you shop on websites that are not fully secure you do run a high risk of having your details stolen. To combat credit card frauds online, only shop at secure websites and at reputable dealers. Check for contact details and If the website does have a phone number, ring it during office hours to see if you can get in touch with a real person. Also you should only write your data in a webpage its URL starts with “https://” instead of “http://” only.

* Don’t believe in superstitious, just use your mind and be reasonable; there are some scammers who try to convince you that they have the Miracle Cure of your critical illness. Cancer cures, slimming pills and soaps and other such products are their best weapons to deceive you.

* NEVER Click on a link or log in to something without knowing where it really goes; However, Anti-virus and Anti-spy software help protect you against any possible virus and spy threats that might possibly pass any important information. For online fraud protection these software are essential. Keep these softwares updated and install a firewall that will help monitor all the incoming and outgoing traffic from your computer.

Is YouTube going to Vanish?!

Is YouTube really worth its value? Is it going to lose this value? Do websites that depend on users for their content will no longer exist? Is it possible to find one day an empty worthless YouTube which bought by google for 1.65 billion just 2 years ago?!

All of these questions dangled in my mind after reading about a new technique that scammers and hackers use to continue their series of damaging the world wide web.

Scammers and hackers use so many ways to steal our privacy online and hunt our personal info. But the new thing is that they Simply, seek to steal online user’s info for certain websites, log into their accounts, and delete all the content they have added . This way the content, which the user has added before, will no longer be available and will give an error message when someone tries to open it.

If we tackle this issue from a wider prospective, the result will be horrible . for instance, if we look at (YouTube), as one of these sites which gained its value from users, it will be worthless and hollow. If hackers succeeded to do that, there will be large number of videos that will not work and lose their importance.

If you are searching for a video that has been added by a user whose User name and Password were stolen and all his content deleted by a hacker, you will never find this video work and instead will have an error message telling you that “This video is no longer available” or “This video has been deleted by the author”

This way, YouTube and many other sharing websites are going to be emptied by some evil minds, and lose their value.

It may seem that Internet security has been out of control and there are some threats that can affect and damage any thing you are doing online. So be careful, your personal PC will not only affect you but it may lead important business to lose its value. You have to feel that you are responsible not only for your security but for others too. Keep your PC secure. Now installing internet security program is mandatory not like old innocent days of the net.

Email Inheritance Scam, How to avoid it

Scam is simply making money by stealing money, time, or resources from you. Or worse, they can continue to cause harm to you after the initial event in other ways too, such as taking your personal information, including credit card information and selling it to others, or even stealing your identity.

If you receive an email in your inbox claims that you are going to receive a huge inheritance from a long-lost friend or family member, therefore you should beware, as you are encountering an Inheritance Scam.

The formula of the email you may receive is like that ” We wish to notify you again that you were listed as a beneficiary to the total sum of £4,600,000.00GBP (Four million Six hundred thousand Great British Pounds) in the intent of the deceased (name now withheld since this is our second letter to you). We contacted you because you bear the surname identity and therefore can present you as the beneficiary to the inheritance since there is no written will.

In your acceptance of this deal, we request that you kindly forward to us your letter of acceptance”.

In this Scam technique, you are simply a focus of mass mailings for many people nationwide. Thousands of people having the same surname receive a notice that a huge inheritance has been located in their names. This email will spell out where the inheritance is located and how you can claim it. The scammer may ask for a fee to process the claim. You should never have to pay a fee as no reputable law firms and executors of wills will never ask you to send them money for a processing fee.

If somebody on the mailing list victims does claim his right to the inheritance, the amount is usually very small and many times less than the fee they paid to claim it.

There are many scams, frauds, and cons that you have to watch out for today. Do your research and talk to people involved with them to make sure and avoid those. In order to protect yourself from Inheritance Scams, you should check with your family members about any recent deaths. You can also check with the local Better Business Bureau, the State Attorney General’s office, or the U.S. Postal Inspection service.
