What is page ranking and what is its importance?

July 28, 2008 By: Newbornbusiness Category: Promote Your Business No Comments →

Page Ranking is a number assigned by Google according to their secret algorithm which can help to decide how high a page is placed in the search results. It is very similar to a popularity contest on the internet. In other words it is a numerical value to measure the relative importance of the web page within the Internet.

Page ranking is used as a big factor in valuing the advertising space on your website by about 85% of advertisers. A higher positioning means more money in your pocket.

It is really important to know if you are looking at a page that Google has ranked as valuable or if it is not rated. You can just install the Google toolbar on your browser, the page rank will be displayed on the tool bar. Each time you look at a web page, the display will show you the page rank.

A page rank is determined by a web page’s importance, the importance is calculated simply by the number of other web pages which contain a relevant link to the webpage. Google attaches a huge amount of importance to relevancy.

As for the reason why Page Ranking emerged or why is it important; it is simply because Search Engines strive to produce quality search results for their users. They want to be able to give you exactly what you are looking for at the best quality.

One way that the search engines can tell if you have important information for its users is if your page has other pages linking to it. Various other factors come into play to ensure quality search results.

Page Ranking is important, so you definitely shouldn’t underestimate its influence on your earnings. Don’t get freaked out if your rating isn’t so hot, because there is more to life on the web than statistics alone. But if you simply don’t care, you need to start caring because you are missing out on potential income by having a poor rank.

The Three Deadly Sins of Marketing

July 24, 2008 By: Newbornbusiness Category: Marketing Techniques, Promote Your Business 1 Comment →

Do you struggle to find success in your business? Every marketers, who have their own business, dream that they can one day succeed and gain profits from their business. But they should always remember that this is only possible if they do not commit the 3 deadly sins of marketing which are (Spam, Telemarketing, and Unsolicited Faxes).

Many marketers as they simply don’t have their own clear plan to promote their sales and succeed with their business fall into these 3 deadly sins of marketing. Sales really count, and they should be on board with what is happening in their marketing campaign. But the idea of achieving the best sales can’t be an incentive for you to shelter to such destroying marketing techniques. It is all about how to achieve the best sales without committing the 3 deadly sins of marketing.

Telemarketing and Unsolicited Faxes can be considered the oldest cousins of Spam.
What is your first reaction when you receive a call from a telemarketer? Many of us simply hang up; others promptly register on the national Do Not Call List. Most people already have a great dislike for telemarketers and they always consider a telemarketer as an aggressive sales person. Why is telemarketing, then, still so common? Forget what you think telemarketing is and the idea that it is used by the largest companies in the world to introduce products. Telemarketing can lead you to loose a lot of sales in your business, simply because it is really annoying!

The practice of advertising goods or services through unsolicited faxes has been illegal since 1991, but there are still some marketers who apply this technique to their business discarding an important fact that; The person or business on whose behalf a fax is sent or whose property, goods, or services are advertised is liable for a violation of the junk fax rules, even if the person or business did not physically send the fax. The recipients of junk faxes are entitled to file suit against junk fax senders as well and obtain judgment for a minimum of $500 per violation.

Spam is the common word for the unsolicited emails that we receive. Using Spam as a fraudulent attempt to get personal or business information from your consumers is not suggested marketing technique. A lot of Internet or email providers have a spam blocker that is just needs to be activated or configured. Therefore if you insisted on sending this kind of spam emails, you would have your domain blocked, depriving any further messages to be delivered to your consumers and they will all fall into the junk folder.

These are just the tip of the “don’t-do-this” iceberg – you should start by ridding your business of these 3 deadly marketing sins, and you’ll definitely be on the right track. Always be sure that; the more you keep away from using these marketing mistakes, the more you can succeed with your business.

July 21, 2008 By: Newbornbusiness Category: Google Adsense, Promote Your Business No Comments →

Google Adwords is a business run by Google which is essentially adverts that contain keywords, hence advert + keyword = AdWords. Google AdWords seems to be very easy – just follow the sign up process and your ads will be displayed all over the internet. It can be an extremely useful tool in creating targeted traffic to your web site.

The point here is that, because Google Adwords is a form of marketing, you need to follow the same procedures you would for any other type of marketing or advertising. That means anything you do with Google AdWords should be tested and tracked.

The Google Adwords Ad consists of four lines: A title is limited up to 25 characters, a description with 2 lines is limited up to 35 characters per line, and a line to display your URL link up to 35 characters. Title must be properly written include with the keyword that you are targeting. It should be prominent and outstanding as the title is really attracts attention.

The description should take into consideration of major selling point of your product, and also sufficient information to reduce the untargeted clicks. Such information will assist the customers to identify what is the product you are selling, and what to expect.

The URL should be up to date and fully functioning correctly. More important, it should take the customer to the relevant page in your website that they are looking for. Always remember that the URL in the ad mustn’t be broken

To advertise on Google, you need to pay a certain fee depending on the number of keywords your ad is targeting to. Each time a person does a search on Google using the keywords that you have selected, your ad will appear on the right hand side of the result page. If the person does not click on your ad, you will not pay. You will only pay when someone clicks on your ad and visit your site.

June 26, 2008 By: Mohamed Elmasry Category: Promote Your Business 9 Comments →

You may read the title and want to know the answer about it. The answer is simply because my marketing campaign is targeting women!

Don’t be shocked , just continue reading.

As catalyst Org states that “Women’s buying power is 76% of The total buying power. That due to the fact that women’s personal shopping is merged in the total household spending. Women are not only shopping for themselves , they also shop for their kids, husbands and household stuff.

So these facts can’t be ignored. The shopping decisions for most of products is in the hand of this buying power. So if you want to spread your product to a wider range of potential customers, you should mention the benefits of your product to this audience.

In your marketing campaign, you can address women and mention the direct benefits that they can enjoy if they buy this product even if it is not for them. How?

For example, if you sell a product that can alleviate the stomach pain of new born babies. It is good for the babies, but it is also can be promoted as “a relief for the mother from the baby’s unreasonable cry “.

Also Men’s products can be promoted through women. I saw once a testimonial from a woman about a product for men that increases Semen . This product is promoted to men as it is bring more joy and increase manhood. But the woman was happy because this special product which originally sold for men helped her to be pregnant and they become happy family.

Do you catch the idea of using the buying power of Women?

Now there are some points you should consider when you target this buying power.

1- You should direct your campaign to attract women’s interest.

2- Women also need to know about you not only your product.

3- Women always want to feel that they buy from real person , not from computer.

4- Prepare yourself to be more patient and answer their questions about the product with more details.

5- Running special offer or considerable rebate is also more effective with women.

Tips on how to write a successful sales letter for your business

June 18, 2008 By: Newbornbusiness Category: Promote Your Business No Comments →

A successful sales letter can boost the number of curious consumers who are willing to give your product or services a try. It is a very important tool for reaching customers and prospects. That is why sales letter writing has been deemed to be a very important aspect in marketing.
Many entrepreneurs have observed the power of sales letter writing in capturing a significant portion of the market. As such, many businesspersons went their way on writing their own sales letters.
As you sit down to write a successful sales letter, it is always important to note the following in order to make the best one:

* Gain the trust of your customers not only their attention, show that you are credible; when your readers receive your mail, they should be able to put confidence in you so that they would feel safe to establish some business relations with you. You can put testimonials in sales letters to let people know of others who swear by your offerings.

* Make sure that you satisfy your customers’ needs. Approach writing a sales letter by making sure to remind yourself that you are speaking to people who are just like you, and long for concrete details and professionalism.

* The headline of your sales letter is very important; you should choose a persuasive one that will not let you stand to lose the interest of readers. Your initial goal is to create a readable headline. It is best to use a simple design, exaggeration of using artsy and elaborate fonts can weaken the appearance of your letter to be professional.

* After creating a headline that sells, then you have successfully directed readers to your opening paragraph, which needs to immediately capture the interest of your readers. You can start with a question or formulating a story to engage your audience.

* Using an interactive style, people will be more excited to finish the contents of the sales letter. Make the letter conversational in tone. Being too serious bores readers while being too informal does not make it sound credible. If you can make your sales letter memorable, chances are the reader would be able to remember your products when the time comes that they are needed.

* To be listened to you should be brief and concise, don’t lead your consumers on and on, people are getting tired of being linked from one page to the next because of so much unnecessary information. People are always in a hurry, they want to know what you have to offer and how it will help their lives.

* It is important for your readers to be informed what they should do next by giving them clear instructions on how they could respond to your sales letter. Be sure to include how they can contact you and make it easy and convenient for them by leaving a mailing address, email, website, fax, or phone number where they can reach you easily.

The success or failure of your product depends on your ability to sell it well. Without a high converting sales page, it will lose out in sales to other inferior products with better sales pages. You need a hyper responsive sales letter to have your sales promoted effectively.

Dig, Fill and Digg it!

June 01, 2008 By: Mohamed Elmasry Category: Promote Your Business, Social Marketing No Comments →

The internet is a golden mine of data. It is a very rich source that you can dig to discover valuable information. If you are running a business, you will have to dig deeply in this world to find something that can make people interested in. This digging process should concentrate on the raw material which is not yet considered or becomes popular to the majority.

I have a rule for that “which is known for some people, can be a discovery for some others”.

This raw material or data can be used to generate many useful information. Now, the filling process is starting. Yes, you have to create unique information to fill an empty space in this cyber space. As long as there is continuous source of fresh data, there will be always an empty space to fill in this world. And to fill this space, you have to introduce unique content. You may ask how? It is simple, every one, has his own personality, experience, and point of view. If all these elements mixed with these data that will create a finger print which can’t be cloned.

After refining your content, you will be welcomed from many fresh content seekers to publish your content. You can start with Digg, nowpublic, propeller and many other communities where you will find many people that seek for invaluable information and eager to share their thoughts which in turn will refresh your mind and can be used as a new golden mine that you may start to dig!

Digging for valuable data, using it for filling unique content, then spreading it through communities and different media is an endless process that can be used to popularize your site. This is one of my marketing techniques which I’m glad to share with you.

Start promoting your website and feel free to comment about how were your previous experiences with social networking, if you have any. If you still new to website promoting techniques, you can share your opinion as well.

Basics to help you have the best guidance plan for your business

May 09, 2008 By: Newbornbusiness Category: Build a new business No Comments →

Effective business owners have a deep and thorough understanding of the nature and direction of their business. To this end, they clearly articulate the vision they have for their business within the framework of the small business plan. Everyone in the business understands the business plan. Everyone knows what their roles, responsibilities and accountabilities are in bringing about the results that have been spelled out for achieving the vision of the business.

Writing a sound business plan appears to be a daunting task at a first glance; but it becomes a piece of cake if you are armed with right set of tips. Here we can offer some of these priceless basics and tactics:

- Never think of a “Business Plan” as a document that is written once in order to attract an investor, once the business is funded, the business plan is no longer needed.

The reality is that the business plan should be used as the guiding document of your business and be reviewed regularly to help refresh the goals of your business because things change during the progress of a business.

- Weave your plan around your rivals’ weak points; but highlight your strengths. At the same time emphasize on your tricks to lure your customers.

- A business plan must convey the understanding of the entrepreneur. If you do not understand or convey what you are planning, how will you achieve your goals and succeed with your business?

- Add a lifestyle component to your business plan. Nobody cares for your lifestyle except YOU. Add a lifestyle page to your business plan. At a minimum, include how many hours you want to work, where you want to work, how much vacation you’d like and what schedule you want.

- For each strategy you have in your long-term business plan, write a short-term action plan. Include what the actual activity will be, what resources you need to do it (employees, money, time, equipment, etc) and write out a detailed plan for it including deadlines.

Does the design of your website really Matter?

May 05, 2008 By: Newbornbusiness Category: Build a new business No Comments →

People can only base their judgment on the look of a Web site and the experience they get from browsing through the site. Their instant opinion is formed in their subconscious mind. This reaction comes regardless of the words and text on your web pages. The visitor need not read a single word, and yet they will form their instant opinion. It all depends on the appearance of your website. First impressions do last and the only way people will ever check out and come back to a site is if it looks attractive and provides what he/she needs.

You should reveal that you are presenting quality products and services. The designs of your WebPages must be able to convey that they can truly provide value for your client’s money.

Choosing the right color scheme on your web pages can tell your visitor different things. It can let your visitors keep browsing your website because of the remarkable selection of colors that you applied to your pages. You can use colors to engender a really positive reaction of your visitors.

Also choosing the wrong colors scheme on your pages can convey a negative message, in which case be prepared for your visitors to leave your site very quickly.

The design of your website really matter, it is the essential feature that tells about your personality and your appreciation of the internet users who will browse your website. Having a well designed website will simply convey your admire to your visitors and force them to be always close and stick to your pages.
