Google’s Certified Ad networks – Much ado about nothing

October 28, 2009 By: Newbornbusiness Category: Google Adsense, google No Comments →

Since Google announced they will allow other ad networks to use adsense inventory, many arguments appear on the surface. This reminds me of Shakespeare’s play “much ado about nothing” ..oh “Ado” is archaic word , it means “fuss”. There is a lot of fuss around and controversies among adsense publishers about this update. Many of them see that they notice a drop of earning since they allowed the “Certified ad networks” to appear, while others block them. Some others started to analyze this new step and talk about the CTR and eCPM .
The comical part in this play is that, there is nothing to be talked about?

As google adsense adviser explained in Webmaster World forum“Guys, this is not a good idea. I can’t share the exact numbers, but I would be shocked if a single one of you were seeing any impressions whatsoever from Google certified ad networks yet. We’re rolling this out slowly. Very slowly.”

In addition , you can see the video from google in order to clear the clouds. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4HyJPOVLd3I

It is logical that everything takes time to be mature, then we can analyze it. And it is also logical that this step will increase the potential earnings because it is built on competition between ads networks to get your ad space and the highest one will be shown, so the publisher will get the maximum revenue. So this step will be great. But to keep your current income intact, you can block “google testing network”. I think that will give you some peace of mind. And I do recommend that you have to give this step a full chance for next two months at least.

Coming Back from the Banned World Of Google Adsense

October 20, 2008 By: Mohamed Elmasry Category: Google Adsense 10 Comments →

If you are a google adsense publisher, you may have heard many frightened stories about the banned publishers who suddenly found their account disabled and their businesses are destroyed even before start because they depend on Google to earn money.

Some are threatening and some other is moaning but both didn’t push Google to open their accounts again. Actually, banned publishers should be so calm and be sure of that if they are following Google’s policies, they can reinstate their account back.

Google disables publishers’ accounts immediately as an immediate measure to stop any attempt that may drain advertisers’ budgets, and then they investigate if this messure was right or not. So don’t panic. It is not the end of the world. When Google disables any account, you receive the famous massage which informs you about the right action you can do. The message contains a link to info page. If you visited this page, you will find that there is a link to a form page that helps you to reinstate your account.

To fill this form, you have to consider the following points:

1- Be calm, polite and honest

2- Fill all required info

3- Explain all your marketing activities in details and traffic flow.

4- If you monitor your web traffic, please attach a log file.

You may need to wait for two weeks or more before receiving a message from Google, notifying you that they are processing your appeal and review your site. This review may take a week. If they enable your account, you will get a very friendly message including the following “Thank you for clarifying your situation. We have reviewed your
circumstances and have reinstated your account, effective immediately.
Please note that there will be a delay of up to 48 hours before our
servers are informed of the update and ads start running on your website
again.”

You may wonder how I’m sure of that. It is simply because I was there in this banned world. As I came back you can too. If you are sure of the fact that you are following their rules and policies , and if you are sure these invalid clicks were never generated by you, or any automated method, then you can have some hope of reinstating your account again.

Monetize your feed by adding Adsense

August 19, 2008 By: Mohamed Elmasry Category: Google Adsense 2 Comments →

Add Adsense to your feeds; all adsense publishers were waiting for this feature. They wanted to add adsense to their feeds. The good news is that Google officially launched this feature after beta test created in 2005 and after three years of perfection. If you log into your account , you will see in adsense setup tab a new option called “Adsense for feeds”.

You know how it is important for content sites to have such feature because most of these sites can have a lot of subscribers who fetch the feed to their igoogle or pageflakes or any other start page portals, so they really don’t visit the original sites who supply this content. And by this way, these sites lose potential profits and can’t get the whole benefit from their traffic.

Now , they can post the ads through feeds and show them to readers any where. You will earn from impressions and clicks and this is good too. As google says “Our salesforce will sell cost-per-impression (CPM) ads directly to the largest advertisers, while the rest of your inventory will be filled with contextually targeted cost-per-click (CPC) and CPM ads. This means that more of your feed items will be sold and with higher overall revenue, than with any other feed network.”

With adsense for feeds it is possible to customize your ads for feeds as well; you can choose whether you would want to display text ads or image ads or a combination of both like the regular adsense program. By adding the adsense ads in your RSS feeds then it will multiply your income and open up many doors for yourself for the adsense revenue to flow in.

Don’t waste any time and start to add this option today. Login to your adsense account and try to figure out the much awaited Google adsense for feeds. It is time to monetize your feed.

Benefits of Google Adwords that will Skyrocket your business

August 07, 2008 By: Newbornbusiness Category: Google Adsense 4 Comments →

Some internet marketers are considering Google Adwords as the most sophisticated, well-developed and popular pay-per-click advertising system simply because Google uses a sophisticated and complex programming to calculate, which also takes into consideration of popularity the ad as well.
However there are many advantages you can gain when advertise with Adwords:

* Using AdWords for generating leads has been known to be very effective. No business can ever do without getting more leads. Using AdWords can make your lead generation automatic. The leads you generate will be highly targeted if you use the right keywords to find prospects.

* You can advertise your affiliate program on AdWords and get more people to sign up to promote your products. The more affiliates you have, the more ‘autopilot promotion power’ you have. Your marketing will be done automatically, and your affiliates will even start promoting your product on AdWords.
* Google Adwords is activated and shown almost immediately when compare with normal website that is required to wait for months for just regular listings. You can also run several ad campaigns simultaneously as a result you can test the various outcomes and conduct the experiment regularly to further enhance the quality of the ads.
All in all, there is no other advertising channel that would be worth every cent than using Google AdWords. Google AdWords is fast becoming the most widely used advertising method on the Internet.

AdWords is often a tricky marketing avenue to get started with for the first time. It is a complicated marketing system and if you don’t do it right, you could lose a lot of money if you are not careful. Content is of course one of the most crucial components of any effective marketing campaign, and the same is true for an AdWords campaign. An AdWords professional can use his or her extensive experience in the field to come up with fresh, unique and compelling pay-per-click ads that can draw in as much traffic as possible.

What is Google Adwords, and how to apply it perfectly to your business?

July 21, 2008 By: Newbornbusiness Category: Google Adsense, Promote Your Business No Comments →

Google Adwords is a business run by Google which is essentially adverts that contain keywords, hence advert + keyword = AdWords. Google AdWords seems to be very easy – just follow the sign up process and your ads will be displayed all over the internet. It can be an extremely useful tool in creating targeted traffic to your web site.

The point here is that, because Google Adwords is a form of marketing, you need to follow the same procedures you would for any other type of marketing or advertising. That means anything you do with Google AdWords should be tested and tracked.

The Google Adwords Ad consists of four lines: A title is limited up to 25 characters, a description with 2 lines is limited up to 35 characters per line, and a line to display your URL link up to 35 characters. Title must be properly written include with the keyword that you are targeting. It should be prominent and outstanding as the title is really attracts attention.

The description should take into consideration of major selling point of your product, and also sufficient information to reduce the untargeted clicks. Such information will assist the customers to identify what is the product you are selling, and what to expect.

The URL should be up to date and fully functioning correctly. More important, it should take the customer to the relevant page in your website that they are looking for. Always remember that the URL in the ad mustn’t be broken

To advertise on Google, you need to pay a certain fee depending on the number of keywords your ad is targeting to. Each time a person does a search on Google using the keywords that you have selected, your ad will appear on the right hand side of the result page. If the person does not click on your ad, you will not pay. You will only pay when someone clicks on your ad and visit your site.

What is Click Fraud, and how does that problem escalate?

July 06, 2008 By: M.Awara Category: Google Adsense No Comments →

If you’re using AdWords or AdSense you must have heard about an emerging practice in the underworld of computing called “Click Fraud”. Click Fraud problem is that not all the clicks you get to your ads are legit, it is considered a sort of the widely spreading Online Scams.
Ever since the beginning of pay per click advertising, click fraud was always a possibility. But nobody ever thought it would become the problem that it is. In a nutshell, Click Fraud can be an expensive misfortune.

Click Fraud emerged by several common practices, especially among rival companies, some companies are trying to click on the rival company’s ad a number of times to drive up the ad costs for the company. Also there are people setting up sites for the sole purpose of fraudulently generating revenue through Google’s AdSense program. These users achieve an incredible number of clicks through many methods, some complex and sophisticated and some rudimentary and simple, which cost the advertiser an amount of money without any profit for his side as he doesn’t get some targeted traffic from these ads, as it is supposed to be.

This is blatant fraud of course, goes on all the time, and is out of control. But the good news is that though the amount of click fraud is hard to calculate, it is discovered by checking the IP addresses of the people clicking on the ads.

There are some signs that you may encounter a click fraud threat like: having clicks from one IP address, one country or region, clicks from your competitors. You may also notice that these clicks include few page views, short visits, and Don’t include conversions.
In fact there’s so much that if search engine companies don’t increase their security with such programs as AdSense, such criminal behavior could become more become even more damaging. However, there are some means of protection against such schemes and all advertisers should be savvy enough to employ them.

Google uses Western Union to send money to Egyptian Publishers

July 02, 2008 By: Mohamed Elmasry Category: Google Adsense No Comments →

In the middle of November 2007 , Google contacted me to be one of the Beta testers of  receiving payment via Western Union. They said: “We are excited to let you know that we plan to offer a chance to participate in this test. Google will send your Adsense payments in cash using the worldwide Western Union money transfer service rather than a check”.

Of course , I felt proud of this invitation and joined immediately. They asked me not to spread this news. I respect that although some others started to declare the western union option is available in Egypt. And that was not true. Three weeks later, I got message informs me that the Beta test will be postponed for awhile.

It was bad news because this option would save a lot of time , at least one month. More over, it is free. You will not need to pay $24 for the DHL or any fees to your bank to cash the check.

Anyway, At this time , I knew that Google started to use Western Union Quick Cash to pay for Publishers in Argentina, Chile, China (Mainland) , Colombia, Malaysia, Pakistan, Peru, The Philippines and Romania. I deduced that the wheel started to run. And sooner or later this service will be available in Egypt.

In May2008, the option to use Western Union appears in my account. So I immediately set it up. I waited for the payment in June. I was a little worried because the amount I should receive is not small and If this process didn’t go successfully, I’ll wait more time than paying by check. But, thank god, everything go smoothly and I received my money without any problem. Wow , it is wonderful. It is even faster than EFT.

Thanks To google because they give us this wonderful option.

Please , read more at google help to set your account and get your money without any problem.

The Good, The Bad and the Ugly can ban your Adsense account

June 03, 2008 By: Mohamed Elmasry Category: Google Adsense 8 Comments →

Did you watch the old movie in sixties? I’m sure most of you watched it but no one couldn’t predict that those guys will move from the western to the net world. Well, we can say that it is the new version of the movie but in the internet world.

Do you have Google adsense account? Are you working hard to earn a decent income from it? So the first thing you should care of is to keep an eye on those guys because they may harm you and lead google to ban your account!!

The good guy may want to help you to generate more clicks to increase your profits. This good guy may be a close friend or one of your company staff or one of your relatives…They are doing that with good intentions…but with Google, good intentions will not prevent them to close your account.

The bad guy is the one who intentionally generates many clicks from ads on your website to get you banned. Google tracks clicks activities and defines the invalid clicks. So if someone wants to hurt you, he simply can generate such harmful activities.

The ugly is the one who offers you a way to get clicks by using ideas such : click exchange or as google says: “ These prohibited methods include but are not limited to repeated manual clicks or impressions, using robots, automated click and impression generating tools, third-party services that generate clicks or impressions such as paid-to-click, paid-to-surf, autosurf, and click-exchange programs,

Well how can you save your back from such guys? The answer is simple.

You have to track your adsense units and links by using channels. If you noticed unusual activity on a channel that you are not promoting that much…or you noticed that the CTR is abnormal like 90% or 100%, you have to worry but wait don’t contact google…You will need to see your tracking report of your pages. You already should have tracking script or advanced counter that can show where the traffic is coming from and IP addresses. If you see the same IP address used on the pages that contain the Adsense channels which generate unusal clicks, you have to contact Google adsense support immediately. Don’t be afraid, they will help you. They will not close your account.

Some Adsense Secrets to triple your profits

March 16, 2008 By: Newbornbusiness Category: Google Adsense No Comments →

Many people are now making a part-time income or even a full-time living from the Internet. Nowadays a large section depends heavily on Adsense Ads. Here are some secrets to get you started earning a solid income quickly with Adsense:

- Targeted traffic results in increased CTR of ads. Choosing the right anchor text for back links promotes your website to the traffic you exactly need from the search engines. Choose the Anchor text that directly speaks to your visitors and pulls the traffic that your web page requires.

- Regular update also makes the search engine bots visit your site more often. It is important to maintain and update your site frequently once it goes live. Never make the mistake of neglecting it for days at a time. Fresh content is what makes your visitors return again and again.

- Dictate keywords to Google Mediabot; Better targeted ads increase both your CTR and EPC. Use keywords in your Meta tags, Title text and inject them in the first and last paragraph of your content. Use Google’s Section targeting to advise Google mediabot about the areas of your content which should be considered or ignored while matching the Ads with your content.

- It is an open secret that people searching the internet will mostly click on links placed at certain points and displaying in certain formats. Because choosing the wrong ad sizes and placing them in the wrong places will lead to low earnings if no earnings at all.

- Make your Adsense unit blend in with your content, use rectangular boxes instead of banner ads (people don’t even see banner ads anymore). Most languages are read from left to right, so try to place your rectangular Adsense unit in a table aligned to the right of your text.

- Now it comes to colors, if you use a different link color on your site, change the Adsense links to match that color. At the bottom of each Adsense unit there is the URL for website paying for that ad. You want to draw attention away from the URL and towards the clickable link, change the color of the link to match the body color of the ad, generally black. Always use the background color of your webpage for your ad border and background.

- Use Adsense Competitive Ad filter; it is a great feature to avoid displaying your competitors ads as well as the Junk Websites that steal the traffic from your website and recycle it on their own Adsense ad blocks. Always recognize such websites and stick them in Adsense Competitive Ad filter.
