Internet is the best place for buying or selling any stuff, but it can be very risky at the same time. It can be a home for a huge number of scams that target the consumers, investors and also business owners.
The term “Online Fraud” has spread widely in the Internet. It simply refers to any schemes that use online services to perform fraudulent schemes. No doubt there is tremendous increase in fraudulent online activities but we can always try to fight against those sophisticated criminals and prevent online fraud from happening.

There are various kinds of online frauds that include:
Credit Card Online Fraud, E-mail Online Fraud, Fake Websites, Lotteries, Fake Auctions, Phishing Scam, Pharming Scam, etc…
Not only can your identity be stolen by those kinds of fraud, but also you can easily loose your credit and your hard earned money. The main key to preventing online fraud is just use common sense and care. Here are some tips you should take into consideration to help you avoid online frauds:

* Only Trust ISP Emails; Emails asking for your personal information are another red flag to prevent. Do not trust emails asking for personal information even if they claim to be from your bank. Most online scammers are smart enough to use free email addresses when scamming online. This gives them extra padding from getting caught, so take precaution with these free email addresses and trust ISP emails which are easily traceable.

* Don’t shop in an unsecured websites; If you shop on websites that are not fully secure you do run a high risk of having your details stolen. To combat credit card frauds online, only shop at secure websites and at reputable dealers. Check for contact details and If the website does have a phone number, ring it during office hours to see if you can get in touch with a real person. Also you should only write your data in a webpage its URL starts with “https://” instead of “http://” only.

* Don’t believe in superstitious, just use your mind and be reasonable; there are some scammers who try to convince you that they have the Miracle Cure of your critical illness. Cancer cures, slimming pills and soaps and other such products are their best weapons to deceive you.

* NEVER Click on a link or log in to something without knowing where it really goes; However, Anti-virus and Anti-spy software help protect you against any possible virus and spy threats that might possibly pass any important information. For online fraud protection these software are essential. Keep these softwares updated and install a firewall that will help monitor all the incoming and outgoing traffic from your computer.

Online Fraud is really scary and threatens many users online. I hope you learned something from this article and can become a more cautious web user.

What To Care For Before Starting Your Home Based Business

September 12, 2008 By: Newbornbusiness Category: Build a new business No Comments →

The idea that you can create your own business, working from home, and working the hours you choose is dominating the minds of many internet users nowadays. There are many thousands of home based business opportunities, but Some of these opportunities are just scams, while others will have you working long hours for minimal pay. It is not that simple to discover legitimate home opportunities.

So the first thing you should do is to decide “What You Can Do”. To be able to find out what is working and what is not you must take action and then refine your efforts. Once you’ve decided what you’d like to do, it’s time to go on.

You must have the desire to work, your business will not run itself. How will you be The Expert by doing Nothing? You should know where you want your business to go and how you want it to get there!
You should start by building your own System; implement a well managed plan, prepare your tools, start making good relationships, train on how to market and advertise your business, etc… again don’t forget that the system will not work on it’s own, if you do not take this opportunity seriously it won’t take long before you are frustrated and ready to give up.

Trust what you do; Hesitating because of lack of knowledge and success is not acceptable. If you think about your business from the prospective that “No one would be successful”, then you will never succeed. It will require not a short period of time to succeed with your business, but you should be patient till you achieve what you have ever dreamt with.

The goal when starting an online home business is, of course, to be successful and the clue to do this is to remain positive through the hard times, along with your determination, hard work, and perseverance. You should also make your own decisions, evaluate your situation and make the necessary adjustments. These are the factors that you should think about before starting your own business and can simply ensure your success.

Can Social Networks Kill Search Engines?

September 11, 2008 By: Newbornbusiness Category: Social Marketing 2 Comments →

How many online marketers noticed that Search Engines are not enough, and how can social networking websites help to increase the number of hits to their website more than Search Engine Optimization, (SEO)?

Social Networks can bring many visitors and potential clients to business owners’ sites in a short period of time. They have become a place for business professionals too, now, many online marketers conquer Social Communities because they became sure that they will find their target consumers there.

Some online users, who lead to Social Networks success, took Social Networks as the TRUSTED place where they find their friends, ask for their help solving a problem, recommendations for certain car brand, how to apply makeup perfectly (Women), or even how to deal with their children.

Simply, They can know all what they need to know, but from a place that depends on friends’ previous experiences and more trusted than Search Engines that depend on (encyclopedia, Google, Blue Book, Yellow Pages, classified ads, etc…). In a nutshell, in social networking, “What You Know Will Depend On Who You Know”.

Social Networks can also help you discover the things you didn’t know you wanted. By navigating through an endless number of pages and interests of other online users (friends) in the community, you will be able to hit some useful information somewhere you didn’t even think you will want to know, not just solve a problem or finding things you were looking for like Search Engines.

Search Engines are no longer the sole dominant of web traffic and information resources, Social Networks made many important changes in the map of “SEO” and forced Search Engines not to work alone for serving online searchers.
BUT this doesn’t mean at all that Social Networks can go alone! A Combination of Search Engines and Social Networks can develop a positive sense of helping people online as well as increasing the number of meaningful hits to your website.

Social Bookmarking Pitfalls That Can Kill Your Business

September 08, 2008 By: Newbornbusiness Category: Social Marketing 3 Comments →

The idea of bookmarking certain page or website you have liked and found interesting for further reading and to reduce the labor you face trying to remember your preferred locations has been developed.

Now, almost all online business owners use social bookmarking and social networking websites to promote their business by not only saving interesting pages but also sharing these pages with an endless number of online users who might find it interesting as well and share with other friends and so on…

For all those online entrepreneurs who apply Social Marketing techniques to promote their business, here are some important pitfalls, which they should avoid in order not to cause harm instead of benefits to their business:

1- Social Marketing plans take time to mature; people hates self-promoters or persons who are greedy. Hence you need to have a high degree of patience while committing to such strategy. Keep away from asking people to click your links from your first posts, believe me your business will never still alive for long time.

2- Never indulge into Spam Schemes; it is more than difficult to avoid getting black listed as a Spamer in social bookmarking websites. You will need to established an authoritative status in a community or become a power-user then you will be acceptable to promote and share your business with others.

3- Discover the community; some people register their accounts in social bookmarking communities without knowing the community they are dealing with. They start posting articles about (SEO) and (Google Adsense) in a community that doesn’t has people who can be interested in such topics at all. The most astonishing thing is that they wait for their posts to become popular!

You should always believe that the one community perceives things differently than other communities. Take a look at the site and community before you start, know the rules, know what goes hot and what doesn’t, know what other users find interesting and what they don’t.

4- Don’t Submit while people are sleeping; knowing the times when people are awake surfing the community and submitting during them is very important. Most people surf social sites in the morning or around lunch time during their break at work, so this is the best time to submit your posts and remember that you should always capture people’s attention.

5- Don’t just Submit and Forget; keep observing your posts and be up to date with what is happening every while. Interact with the community, if someone comments on a post then respond back to them whether the comment was positive or negative. Try to start the conversation and make good relationships with other users.

Social bookmarking is a great way to identify different sites on a similar topic. It is now seen as another form of search engine optimization, and good sites try to be highly placed and recommended on social bookmark sites. SO don’t loose such effective weapon in your business promotion battle.

September 07, 2008 By: Newbornbusiness Category: google No Comments →

Google turns 10 today and still growing, they are celebrating 10 years full of success and development in the Internet field, ends by entering the web browser market through unveiling the promising web browser “Chrome” last week, and will continue by launching their new satellite “GeoEye-1″yesterday.

GeoEye-1 satellite will provide the U.S. government, Google Earth users and others the highest-resolution commercial color satellite imagery on the market. It will be able to capture images at .41 meters (16 inches) resolution in black and white and 1.65 meters (5.5 feet) in color. GeoEye-1 can collect images from orbit with enough detail to show home plate on a baseball diamond.

In the last 10 years, Google has been very busy. It’s hard to believe that it was just 10 years ago that the Google search engine first hit the web;
Google was founded on September 7, 1998 after receiving a $100,000 check from Andy Bechtolsheim, co-founder of Sun Microsystems.
Now, after establishing themselves as a major search player, Google has 20,000 employees, a $150 billion market cap, and is considered one of the biggest and most powerful computer networks in the world.

Today Google is responsible for roughly two-thirds of U. S. search traffic, and with its easy-to-use search engine, boasts no less than 30 tools and services; from e-mail to mapping, blogs, advertising, online video, Photos, Calendar, etc…
Google still has a lot in its to-do list, promising with a lot of development in the future, and showing no signs of slowing down.

Blogs are very effective especially for people who are low maintenance and generally have a simplistic attitude or approach to things. Here are some important facts that makes Blogs better for your business:

Blogs can climb search engine rankings quickly; Search engines love the idea of a well-written blog and scramble to get such on their sites. When you get popular, you will efficiently be ranked in these search engines.

Blogs give you the chance to interact with your visitors; you can know your readers opinions about your entries, share your thoughts together, and even build good relationships with them simply through the “Comment Box” at the end of your posts.

Don’t Always Blame SEO

September 05, 2008 By: Newbornbusiness Category: SEO No Comments →

If you are approaching SEO campaign that doesn’t work properly as you was hoping, this doesn’t mean that SEO is the sinner, and that SEO doesn’t work for your business. SEO is an effective and smart way to promote your business online and popularize your website in the internet, but it is all about how do you do SEO?

No one is perfect especially when it comes to the Search Engine Marketing and SEO. So if you want your website to rank well organically, don’t always blame SEO. You need to make sure that you are applying the perfect techniques in your SEO campaign and that you are not making some common mistakes that most online marketers do while promoting their business.

You can find and an online marketer who use the same Title and Meta description for all the pages of his/her website and then blames SEO for his failure!
Every page has its unique content and should be optimized according to a particular set of keywords that are the most relevant to the content of that page. If you don’t use relevant Title and Meta description for every page, your keywords will not match the content and thus making it harder to optimize
.

You may also find an online business owner who use the “click here” instead of building good URL structure and again blames SEO for his failure!
Including keywords within your URL structure will help to give your web page a boost in search engines. He/she also doesn’t pay any attention to Internal Linking, which is one of the best ways to improve the rankings of the different pages within their site.

Over time many websites and blogs create a huge amount of content which simply ends up being buried within the site. Use internal linking and a clear navigational structure to keep all the content within your site not further than two or three clicks from your home page.

There are competitors competing top ranking positions with you every day, so never stop optimizing when you see that your keywords have obtained high rankings.
SEO is amazing technique to promote your business and if you are able to utilize SEO properly, then you will be able to increase your website traffic, and at the same time improve your sales effectively.

Smart Link Building Strategies

September 04, 2008 By: Newbornbusiness Category: Promote Your Business 1 Comment →

Link building is an essential component of effective Search Engine Optimization. Search engines require link building with superior backlinks for greater rankings.
Major search engines, such as Google and Yahoo, use incoming links as a way of determining how important and popular your site is.

There are many ways to get backlinks to your website. We will cover here some of the most effective of Link Building Strategies to gain search engine dominance by focusing on creating backlinks into your website;

* Exchanging links:
This may appear to you as an old-fashioned strategy for building links, but
Reciprocal Link Building from quality, related and authority websites is well worth pursuing if you want your site to rank well in the search engines.
Simply find other web sites in your area of expertise and offer to put a link on your site to theirs if they will do the same for you.
These valuable websites receive many emails asking for kink exchange, therefore you should make your offer special and let them feel that they will also benefit from linking to your website.

* Link Directories:
Search for some high page rank and high quality directories
where you can submit your links and can influence your web site positively. You can start by submitting your links to free link directories out there. All you have to do is search Google for “link directories” and then spend some time submitting your website to as many as you want.

* Writing Articles:
You can write and submit articles to article directories and include a link in your author resource box, this will get you a one way link for each directory you submit to and there are hundreds of directories on the internet.

* Social Media:
This is the new smart technique to build quality links to your site as well as receiving unlimited number of traffic regularly.
Social Media or (Viral Marketing) can be very effective
in very little time if executed well. You should give people an excellent reason to link to you, they should fee that you really introduce something valuable to the online community. Social Media success can ensure you a frenzy of people working to send you traffic.

No matter how you decide to build up your links, you really do need them. Your site will get much more exposure, and the search engines will like it a lot more. Remember to always build text anchor backlinks, so that the text of your preferred keyword for a given page is the text of the backlink itself, rather than just the URL of the web page.
