What is page ranking and what is its importance?

July 28, 2008 By: Newbornbusiness Category: Promote Your Business No Comments →

Page Ranking is a number assigned by Google according to their secret algorithm which can help to decide how high a page is placed in the search results. It is very similar to a popularity contest on the internet. In other words it is a numerical value to measure the relative importance of the web page within the Internet.

Page ranking is used as a big factor in valuing the advertising space on your website by about 85% of advertisers. A higher positioning means more money in your pocket.

It is really important to know if you are looking at a page that Google has ranked as valuable or if it is not rated. You can just install the Google toolbar on your browser, the page rank will be displayed on the tool bar. Each time you look at a web page, the display will show you the page rank.

A page rank is determined by a web page’s importance, the importance is calculated simply by the number of other web pages which contain a relevant link to the webpage. Google attaches a huge amount of importance to relevancy.

As for the reason why Page Ranking emerged or why is it important; it is simply because Search Engines strive to produce quality search results for their users. They want to be able to give you exactly what you are looking for at the best quality.

One way that the search engines can tell if you have important information for its users is if your page has other pages linking to it. Various other factors come into play to ensure quality search results.

Page Ranking is important, so you definitely shouldn’t underestimate its influence on your earnings. Don’t get freaked out if your rating isn’t so hot, because there is more to life on the web than statistics alone. But if you simply don’t care, you need to start caring because you are missing out on potential income by having a poor rank.

July 24, 2008 By: Newbornbusiness Category: Marketing Techniques, Promote Your Business 1 Comment →

Do you struggle to find success in your business? Every marketers, who have their own business, dream that they can one day succeed and gain profits from their business. But they should always remember that this is only possible if they do not commit the 3 deadly sins of marketing which are (Spam, Telemarketing, and Unsolicited Faxes).

Many marketers as they simply don’t have their own clear plan to promote their sales and succeed with their business fall into these 3 deadly sins of marketing. Sales really count, and they should be on board with what is happening in their marketing campaign. But the idea of achieving the best sales can’t be an incentive for you to shelter to such destroying marketing techniques. It is all about how to achieve the best sales without committing the 3 deadly sins of marketing.

Telemarketing and Unsolicited Faxes can be considered the oldest cousins of Spam.
What is your first reaction when you receive a call from a telemarketer? Many of us simply hang up; others promptly register on the national Do Not Call List. Most people already have a great dislike for telemarketers and they always consider a telemarketer as an aggressive sales person. Why is telemarketing, then, still so common? Forget what you think telemarketing is and the idea that it is used by the largest companies in the world to introduce products. Telemarketing can lead you to loose a lot of sales in your business, simply because it is really annoying!

The practice of advertising goods or services through unsolicited faxes has been illegal since 1991, but there are still some marketers who apply this technique to their business discarding an important fact that; The person or business on whose behalf a fax is sent or whose property, goods, or services are advertised is liable for a violation of the junk fax rules, even if the person or business did not physically send the fax. The recipients of junk faxes are entitled to file suit against junk fax senders as well and obtain judgment for a minimum of $500 per violation.

Spam is the common word for the unsolicited emails that we receive. Using Spam as a fraudulent attempt to get personal or business information from your consumers is not suggested marketing technique. A lot of Internet or email providers have a spam blocker that is just needs to be activated or configured. Therefore if you insisted on sending this kind of spam emails, you would have your domain blocked, depriving any further messages to be delivered to your consumers and they will all fall into the junk folder.

These are just the tip of the “don’t-do-this” iceberg – you should start by ridding your business of these 3 deadly marketing sins, and you’ll definitely be on the right track. Always be sure that; the more you keep away from using these marketing mistakes, the more you can succeed with your business.

What is Click Fraud, and how does that problem escalate?

July 06, 2008 By: Newbornbusiness Category: Google Adsense No Comments →

If you’re using AdWords or AdSense you must have heard about an emerging practice in the underworld of computing called “Click Fraud”. Click Fraud problem is that not all the clicks you get to your ads are legit, it is considered a sort of the widely spreading Online Scams.
Ever since the beginning of pay per click advertising, click fraud was always a possibility. But nobody ever thought it would become the problem that it is. In a nutshell, Click Fraud can be an expensive misfortune.

Click Fraud emerged by several common practices, especially among rival companies, some companies are trying to click on the rival company’s ad a number of times to drive up the ad costs for the company. Also there are people setting up sites for the sole purpose of fraudulently generating revenue through Google’s AdSense program. These users achieve an incredible number of clicks through many methods, some complex and sophisticated and some rudimentary and simple, which cost the advertiser an amount of money without any profit for his side as he doesn’t get some targeted traffic from these ads, as it is supposed to be.

This is blatant fraud of course, goes on all the time, and is out of control. But the good news is that though the amount of click fraud is hard to calculate, it is discovered by checking the IP addresses of the people clicking on the ads.

There are some signs that you may encounter a click fraud threat like: having clicks from one IP address, one country or region, clicks from your competitors. You may also notice that these clicks include few page views, short visits, and Don’t include conversions.
In fact there’s so much that if search engine companies don’t increase their security with such programs as AdSense, such criminal behavior could become more become even more damaging. However, there are some means of protection against such schemes and all advertisers should be savvy enough to employ them.

Google uses Western Union to send money to Egyptian Publishers

July 02, 2008 By: Mohamed Elmasry Category: Google Adsense No Comments →

In the middle of November 2007 , Google contacted me to be one of the Beta testers of  receiving payment via Western Union. They said: “We are excited to let you know that we plan to offer a chance to participate in this test. Google will send your Adsense payments in cash using the worldwide Western Union money transfer service rather than a check”.

Of course , I felt proud of this invitation and joined immediately. They asked me not to spread this news. I respect that although some others started to declare the western union option is available in Egypt. And that was not true. Three weeks later, I got message informs me that the Beta test will be postponed for awhile.

It was bad news because this option would save a lot of time , at least one month. More over, it is free. You will not need to pay $24 for the DHL or any fees to your bank to cash the check.

Anyway, At this time , I knew that Google started to use Western Union Quick Cash to pay for Publishers in Argentina, Chile, China (Mainland) , Colombia, Malaysia, Pakistan, Peru, The Philippines and Romania. I deduced that the wheel started to run. And sooner or later this service will be available in Egypt.

In May2008, the option to use Western Union appears in my account. So I immediately set it up. I waited for the payment in June. I was a little worried because the amount I should receive is not small and If this process didn’t go successfully, I’ll wait more time than paying by check. But, thank god, everything go smoothly and I received my money without any problem. Wow , it is wonderful. It is even faster than EFT.

Thanks To google because they give us this wonderful option.

Please , read more at google help to set your account and get your money without any problem.
